मास्माकं कषत्रियकुले जन्म कश चिद अवाप्नुयात बराह्मणेभ्यॊ नमॊ नित्यं येषां युद्धे न जीविका ॥ ३-३८-२१ ॥
'Let none of us be born again into the Kshatriya order. I ever bow down to the Brahmanas, who live by their learning and not by warfare.' ॥ 3-38-21 ॥

mAsmAkaM kaSatriyakule janma kaza cida avApnuyAta barAhmaNebhyò namò nityaM yeSAM yuddhe na jIvikA ॥ 3-38-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनूनं ते भरातरः सर्वे तवत कथाभिः परजागरे रंस्यन्ते वीरकर्माणि कीर्तयन्तः पुनः पुनः ॥ ३-३८-२२ ॥
'Certainly, in your absence, your brothers will spend their waking hours recounting and celebrating your heroic deeds over and over again.' ॥ 3-38-22 ॥

nUnaM te bharAtaraH sarve tavata kathAbhiH parajAgare raMsyante vIrakarmANi kIrtayantaH punaH punaH ॥ 3-38-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनैव नः पार्थ भॊगेषु न धने नॊत जीविते तुष्टिर बुद्धिर भवित्री वा तवयि दीर्घप्रवासिनि ॥ ३-३८-२३ ॥
'If, however, O son of Pritha, you remain absent for a long time, neither our pleasures nor our wealth will bring us any joy.' ॥ 3-38-23 ॥

naiva naH pArtha bhògeSu na dhane nòta jIvite tuSTira buddhira bhavitrI vA tavayi dIrghapravAsini ॥ 3-38-23 ॥

'Salutations to Dhata (the Creator) and Vidhata (the Ordainer), Go forth in well-being and health. May you have well-being from the atmospheric and earthly ॥ beings॥, O Bharata, And from the divine beings, as well as from any others who may obstruct ॥ your path॥.' ॥ 3-38-25 ॥
