ततः परदक्षिणं कृत्वा भरातॄन धौम्यं च पाण्डवः परातिष्ठत महाबाहुः परगृह्य रुचिरं धनुः ॥ ३-३८-२६ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, "Having uttered these benedictions, Krishna, the daughter of Yajnasena, fell silent. Then, the mighty-armed son of Pandu, after circumambulating his brothers and Dhaumya, and taking up his elegant bow, set out on his journey."' ॥ 3-38-26 ॥

tataH paradakSiNaM kRtvA bharAtRRna dhaumyaM ca pANDavaH parAtiSThata mahAbAhuH paragRhya ruciraM dhanuH ॥ 3-38-26 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्य मार्गाद अपाक्रामन सर्वभूतानि गच्छतः युक्तस्यैन्द्रेण यॊगेन पराक्रान्तस्य शुष्मिणः ॥ ३-३८-२७ ॥
'And all creatures began to clear the path for Arjuna, the mighty one, who, driven by his desire to see Indra, proceeded with great energy and determination.' ॥ 3-38-27 ॥

tasya mArgAda apAkrAmana sarvabhUtAni gacchataH yuktasyaindreNa yògena parAkrAntasya zuSmiNaH ॥ 3-38-27 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसॊ ऽगच्छत पर्वतं पुण्यम एकाह्नैव महामनाः मनॊजव गतिर भूत्वा यॊगयुक्तॊ यथानिलः ॥ ३-३८-२८ ॥
'And that slayer of foes traversed many mountains inhabited by ascetics before arriving at the sacred Himavat, the abode of the celestials. The high-souled Arjuna reached this holy mountain in a single day, moving with the swiftness of the mind, akin to the wind, due to his ascetic austerities.' ॥ 3-38-28 ॥

sò 'gacchata parvataM puNyama ekAhnaiva mahAmanAH manòjava gatira bhUtvA yògayuktò yathAnilaH ॥ 3-38-28 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहिमवन्तम अतिक्रम्य गन्धमादनम एव च अत्यक्रामत स दुर्गाणि दिवारात्रम अतन्द्रितः ॥ ३-३८-२९ ॥
'And having crossed both the Himavat and the Gandhamadana, he traversed many rugged and perilous regions, journeying day and night without weariness.' ॥ 3-38-29 ॥

himavantama atikramya gandhamAdanama eva ca atyakrAmata sa durgANi divArAtrama atandritaH ॥ 3-38-29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइन्द्र कीलं समासाद्य ततॊ ऽतिष्ठद धनंजयः अन्तरिक्षे हि शुश्राव तिष्ठेति स वचस तदा ॥ ३-३८-३० ॥
'Arriving at Indrakila, Dhananjaya paused momentarily. Then, from the sky, a voice was heard commanding, "Halt!"' ॥ 3-38-30 ॥

indra kIlaM samAsAdya tatò 'tiSThada dhanaMjayaH antarikSe hi zuzrAva tiSTheti sa vacasa tadA ॥ 3-38-30 ॥
