युधिष्ठिरस तु धर्मात्मा तद बरह्म मनसा यतः धारयाम आस मेधावी काले काले समब्भ्यसन ।। ३-३७-३६ ।।

sanskrit

'The virtuous and wise Yudhishthira, having received that knowledge, carefully retained it in his mind and recited it at the appropriate times.' ।। 3-37-36 ।।

english translation

yudhiSThirasa tu dharmAtmA tada barahma manasA yataH dhArayAma Asa medhAvI kAle kAle samabbhyasana || 3-37-36 ||

स वयासवाक्यमुदितॊ वनाद दवैतवनात ततः ययौ सरस्वती तीरे काम्यकं नाम काननम ।। ३-३७-३७ ।।

sanskrit

'The virtuous and wise Yudhishthira, having received that knowledge, carefully retained it in his mind and recited it at the proper moments. Grateful for Vyasa's counsel, the son of Kunti then departed from the Dwaita forest and journeyed to the Kamyaka woods on the banks of the Sarasvati.' ।। 3-37-37 ।।

english translation

sa vayAsavAkyamuditò vanAda davaitavanAta tataH yayau sarasvatI tIre kAmyakaM nAma kAnanama || 3-37-37 ||

hk transliteration

तम अन्वयुर महाराज शिक्षा कषरविदस तथा बराह्मणास तपसा युक्ता देवेन्द्रम ऋषयॊ यथा ।। ३-३७-३८ ।।

sanskrit

'O king, numerous Brahmanas, rich in ascetic merit and skilled in the sciences of phonetics and grammar, followed him like the sages who accompany the chief of the celestials.' ।। 3-37-38 ।।

english translation

tama anvayura mahArAja zikSA kaSaravidasa tathA barAhmaNAsa tapasA yuktA devendrama RSayò yathA || 3-37-38 ||

hk transliteration

ततः काम्यकम आसाद्य पुनस ते भरतर्षभाः नयविशन्त महात्मानः सामात्याः सपदानुगाः ।। ३-३७-३९ ।।

sanskrit

'Upon arriving at Kamyaka, those illustrious scions of the Bharata race took up residence there, accompanied by their loyal companions and attendants.' ।। 3-37-39 ।।

english translation

tataH kAmyakama AsAdya punasa te bharatarSabhAH nayavizanta mahAtmAnaH sAmAtyAH sapadAnugAH || 3-37-39 ||

hk transliteration

तत्र ते नयवसन राजन कं चित कालं मनस्विनः धनुर्वेद परा वीरा शृण्वाना वेदम उत्तमम ।। ३-३७-४० ।।

sanskrit

'Endowed with great energy, O king, those heroes resided there for a time, dedicated to the practice of archery while continually listening to the recitation of the Vedas.' ।। 3-37-40 ।।

english translation

tatra te nayavasana rAjana kaM cita kAlaM manasvinaH dhanurveda parA vIrA zRNvAnA vedama uttamama || 3-37-40 ||
