एकान्तेन हय अनर्थॊ ऽयं वर्तते ऽसमासु सांप्रतम न तु निःसंशयं न सयात तवयि कर्मण्य अवस्थिते ॥ ३-३३-४१ ॥
'Intelligent individuals who engage in their tasks with self-confidence view those who are hesitant as doubtful and doomed to failure. Conversely, the confident and faithful are seen as successful. Thus, in this moment, adversity has indeed befallen us.' ॥ 3-33-41 ॥
english translation
अथ वा सिद्धिर एव सयान महिमा तु तथैव ते वृकॊदरस्य बीभत्सॊर भरात्रॊश च यमयॊर अपि ॥ ३-३३-४२ ॥
'If you take action, you will surely alleviate that misery. Should you fail, it will serve as proof to you, Vrikodara, Vivatsu, and the twins that you are unable to seize the kingdom from your adversaries.' ॥ 3-33-42 ॥

अन्येषां कर्म सफलम अस्माकम अपि वा पुनः विप्रकर्षेण बुध्येत कृतकर्मा यथा फलम ॥ ३-३३-४३ ॥
'It is observed that the actions of others often succeed, suggesting that ours might also be successful. However, it is impossible to predict the outcome in advance. Only through your own efforts will you discover the results of your actions.' ॥ 3-33-43 ॥

पृथिवीं लाङ्गलेनैव भित्त्वा बीजं वपत्य उत आस्ते ऽथ कर्षकस तूष्णीं पर्जन्यस तत्र कारणम ॥ ३-३३-४४ ॥
'The tiller plows the soil and sows the seeds, then remains silent, as the growth of the plants depends on the rain that follows.' ॥ 3-33-44 ॥

वृष्टिश चेन नानुगृह्णीयाद अनेनास तत्र कर्षकः यद अन्यः पुरुषः कुर्यात कृतं तत सकलं मया ॥ ३-३३-४५ ॥
'However, if the clouds do not favor him, the tiller is not to blame. He tells himself, 'I have done all that others would have done.'' ॥ 3-33-45 ॥
