एवं हठाच च दैवाच च सवभावात कर्मणस तथा यानि पराप्नॊति पुरुषस तत फलं पूर्वकर्मणः ।। ३-३३-१८ ।।

sanskrit

'And, O best of men, know that wealth acquired spontaneously and without apparent cause is termed as a spontaneous acquisition. Whatever is gained by chance, through providential favor, or as a direct result of one's actions, is ultimately the consequence of actions performed in a past life.' ।। 3-33-18 ।।

english translation

evaM haThAca ca daivAca ca savabhAvAta karmaNasa tathA yAni parApnòti puruSasa tata phalaM pUrvakarmaNaH || 3-33-18 ||
