[य] सन्तॊ दिग जलम आकाशं गौर अन्नं परार्थना विषम शराद्धस्य बराह्मणः कालः कथं वा यक्ष मन्यसे ॥ ३-२९७-६१ ॥
'Yudhishthira answered: “The virtuous are the true path. The sky is considered water. The cow is regarded as food. A request is like poison. And the presence of a Brahmana determines the proper time for a śrāddha. What do you think of this, O Yaksha?”' ॥ 3-297-61 ॥
english translation
[यक्स] वयाख्याता मे तवया परश्ना याथातथ्यं परंतप पुरुषं तव इदानीम आख्याहि यश च सर्वधनी नरः ॥ ३-२९७-६२ ॥
'Yaksha asked: “You have explained my questions truthfully, O scorcher of enemies! Now tell me about a person - who is the man that possesses all wealth?' ॥ 3-297-62 ॥
english translation
[य] दिवं सपृशति भूमिं च शब्दः पुण्यस्य कर्मणः यावत स शब्दॊ भवति तावत पुरुष उच्यते ॥ ३-२९७-६३ ॥
'Yudhishthira said: “The sound/fame of virtuous deeds touches both heaven and earth. As long as that sound/fame exists, so long is a person said to truly exist.”' ॥ 3-297-63 ॥
english translation
तुल्ये परियाप्रिये यस्य सुखदुःखे तथैव च अतीतानागते चॊभे स वै सर्वधनी नरः ॥ ३-२९७-६४ ॥
'One who remains equal/balanced in pleasant and unpleasant experiences, in happiness and sorrow alike, and in both the past and future - such a person is truly the one who possesses all wealth.' ॥ 3-297-64 ॥
english translation
[यक्स] वयाख्यातः पुरुषॊ राजन यश च सर्वधनी नरः तस्मात तवैकॊ भरातॄणां यम इच्छसि स जीवतु ॥ ३-२९७-६५ ॥
'Yaksha said, "O King, the person who possesses all wealth has been explained by you. Therefore, of your brothers, whichever one you desire may live."' ॥ 3-297-65 ॥
