[वै] एवम उक्तस ततॊ भीमॊ यक्षेणामित तेजसा अविज्ञायैव तान परश्नान पीत्वैव निपपात ह ॥ ३-२९६-३८ ॥

'Vaisampayana continued, "Thus confronted by the Yaksha of boundless power, Bhima, without answering the questions, drank the water—and the moment he did, he fell dead on the spot."' ॥ 3-296-38 ॥

english translation

[vai] evama uktasa tatò bhImò yakSeNAmita tejasA avijJAyaiva tAna paraznAna pItvaiva nipapAta ha ॥ 3-296-38 ॥
