तस्याः कौतूहलं तव आसीन मन्त्रं परति नराधिप आह्वानम अकरॊत साथ तस्य देवस्य भामिनी ॥ ३-२९०-६ ॥

'Upon beholding the god, O king, a wondrous curiosity stirred within her for the secret power of the mantra— and so, the fair maiden made up her mind to summon him forth.' ॥ 3-290-6 ॥

english translation

tasyAH kautUhalaM tava AsIna mantraM parati narAdhipa AhvAnama akaròta sAtha tasya devasya bhAminI ॥ 3-290-6 ॥

पराणान उपस्पृश्य तदा आजुहाव दिवाकरम आजगाम ततॊ राजंस तवरमाणॊ दिवाकरः ॥ ३-२९०-७ ॥

'And having recourse to Prāṇāyāma, she invoked the Maker of Day. Thus called upon by her, O king, the Maker of Day swiftly appeared before her.' ॥ 3-290-7 ॥

parANAna upaspRzya tadA AjuhAva divAkarama AjagAma tatò rAjaMsa tavaramANò divAkaraH ॥ 3-290-7 ॥

मधु पिङ्गॊ महाबाहुः कम्बुग्रीवॊ हसन्न इव अङ्गदी बद्धमुकुटॊ दिशः परज्वालयन्न इव ॥ ३-२९०-८ ॥

'He was of a honeyed yellow hue, possessed of mighty arms, and his neck was marked with lines like the spirals of a conch shell. Adorned with armlets and crowned with a diadem, he came smiling, illuminating all the directions.' ॥ 3-290-8 ॥

madhu piGgò mahAbAhuH kambugrIvò hasanna iva aGgadI baddhamukuTò dizaH parajvAlayanna iva ॥ 3-290-8 ॥

यॊगात कृत्वा दविथात्मानम आजगाम तताप च आबभाषे ततः कुन्तीं साम्ना परमवल्गुना ॥ ३-२९०-९ ॥

'And by the power of Yoga, he divided himself in twain— one form remained in the sky, radiating heat, while the other appeared before Kuntī.' ॥ 3-290-9 ॥

yògAta kRtvA davithAtmAnama AjagAma tatApa ca AbabhASe tataH kuntIM sAmnA paramavalgunA ॥ 3-290-9 ॥

आगतॊ ऽसमि वशं भद्रे तव मन्त्रबलात कृतः किं करॊम्य अवशॊ राज्ञि बरूहि कर्ता तद अस्मि ते ॥ ३-२९०-१० ॥

'With words as sweet as nectar, he addressed Kuntī: “O fair maiden, drawn by the might of your mantra, I am here—bound to serve your command.”' ॥ 3-290-10 ॥

Agatò 'sami vazaM bhadre tava mantrabalAta kRtaH kiM karòmya avazò rAjJi barUhi kartA tada asmi te ॥ 3-290-10 ॥
