[वै] न शशाक दवितीयं सा परत्याख्यातुम अनिन्दिता तं वै दविजातिप्रवरं तदा शापभयान नृप ॥ ३-२८९-१९ ॥

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana continued, ‘Thus addressed, that faultless maiden could not, O King, for the second time and out of fear of the curse, refuse to comply with the wishes of that foremost of the twice-born.’' ॥ 3-289-19 ॥

english translation

[vai] na zazAka davitIyaM sA paratyAkhyAtuma aninditA taM vai davijAtipravaraM tadA zApabhayAna nRpa ॥ 3-289-19 ॥
