शॊभसे कुण्डलाभ्यां हि रुचिराभ्यां महाद्युते विशाखयॊर मध्यगतः शशीव विमलॊ दिवि ।। ३-२८५-११ ।।

'O thou of great splendour, with thy radiant ear-rings, thou art as beautiful as the moon shining bright amidst the stars of the Visakha constellation in the clear sky.' ।। 3-285-11 ।।

zòbhase kuNDalAbhyAM hi rucirAbhyAM mahAdyute vizAkhayòra madhyagataH zazIva vimalò divi || 3-285-11 ||

कीर्तिश च जीवतः साध्वी पुरुषस्येति विद्धि तत परत्याख्येयस तवया तात कुण्डलार्थे पुरंदरः ।। ३-२८५-१२ ।।

'Know that fame benefits only the living. Therefore, O son, when the lord of the celestials asks for your ear-rings, you should refuse him!' ।। 3-285-12 ।।

kIrtiza ca jIvataH sAdhvI puruSasyeti viddhi tata paratyAkhyeyasa tavayA tAta kuNDalArthe puraMdaraH || 3-285-12 ||

शक्या बहुविधैर वाक्यैः कुण्डलेप्सा तवयानघ विहन्तुं देवराजस्य हेतुयुक्तैः पुनः पुनः ।। ३-२८५-१३ ।।

'By repeatedly giving well-reasoned answers, thou, O sinless one, shalt be able to quell the desire of the lord of the celestials to possess thy ear-rings.' ।। 3-285-13 ।।

zakyA bahuvidhaira vAkyaiH kuNDalepsA tavayAnagha vihantuM devarAjasya hetuyuktaiH punaH punaH || 3-285-13 ||

उपपत्त्युपपन्नार्थैर माधुर्यकृतभूषणैः पुरंदरस्य कर्ण तवं बुद्धिम एताम अपानुद ।। ३-२८५-१४ ।।

'O Karna, when Purandara comes with his purpose, respond with reasoned, weighty, and gracious words, adorned with sweetness and tact.' ।। 3-285-14 ।।

upapattyupapannArthaira mAdhuryakRtabhUSaNaiH puraMdarasya karNa tavaM buddhima etAma apAnuda || 3-285-14 ||

'O tiger among men, you are always competing with the ambidextrous one (Arjuna). The ambidextrous one (Arjuna) and you, both heroes, will fight in battle.' ।। 3-285-15 ।।
