दृष्ट्वा वनगतं पार्थम अदुःखार्हं सुखॊचितम न च ते वर्धते मन्युस तेन मुह्यामि भारत ॥ ३-२८-२६ ॥
'Beholding Arjuna, the foremost of men, worshipped by both the celestials and the Danavas, in such distress, why, O king, does your anger not flare up? I lament, O Bharata, that your wrath does not ignite upon seeing this son of Pritha in exile— a prince deserving of every luxury and happiness, yet now subjected to such hardship.' ॥ 3-28-26 ॥
english translation
यॊ देवांश च मनुष्यांश च सर्पांश चैकरथॊ ऽजयत तं ते वनगतं दृष्ट्वा कस्मान मन्युर न वर्धते ॥ ३-२८-२७ ॥
'Why does your fury not blaze at the sight of Arjuna, who, alone on his chariot, has defeated gods, men, and serpents alike?' ॥ 3-28-27 ॥
english translation
यॊ यानैर अद्भुताकारैर हयैर नागैश च संवृतः परसह्य वित्तान्य आदत्त पार्थिवेभ्यः परंतपः ॥ ३-२८-२८ ॥
'He who, surrounded by chariots of wondrous form, horses, and elephants, Forcibly took wealth from other kings, that scorcher of foes.' ॥ 3-28-28 ॥
english translation
कषिपत्य एकेन वेगेन पञ्चबाणशतानि यः तं ते वनगतं दृष्ट्वा कस्मान मन्युर न वर्धते ॥ ३-२८-२९ ॥
'Why, O king, does not your wrath blaze up at the sight of Arjuna in exile, who, honored with diverse vehicles and horses, forcibly took treasures from the kings of the earth and can shoot five hundred arrows in one swift motion?' ॥ 3-28-29 ॥

शयामं बृहन्तं तरुणं चर्मिणाम उत्तमं रणे नकुलं ते वने दृष्ट्वा कस्मान मन्युर न वर्धते ॥ ३-२८-३० ॥
'Why does your anger not increase upon seeing Nakula, in exile, who is not only handsome, strong, and youthful but also the foremost of all swordsmen?' ॥ 3-28-30 ॥
