[राम] अभिवादये तवां राजेन्द्र यदि तवं जनकॊ मम गमिष्यामि पुरीं रम्याम अयॊध्यां शासनात तव ।। ३-२७५-३६ ।।

sanskrit

'Rāma then replied: "If you are indeed my father, I bow to you in reverence, O king of kings! At your command, I shall return to the delightful city of Ayodhyā."' ।। 3-275-36 ।।

english translation

[rAma] abhivAdaye tavAM rAjendra yadi tavaM janakò mama gamiSyAmi purIM ramyAma ayòdhyAM zAsanAta tava || 3-275-36 ||

[मार्क] तम उवाच पिता भूयॊ परहृष्टॊ मनुजाधिप गच्छायॊध्यां परशाधि तवं राम रक्तान्तलॊचन ।। ३-२७५-३७ ।।

sanskrit

'Markandeya continued: "Thus addressed, his father, O bull among the Bharatas, joyfully replied to Rāma—he whose eyes were tinged with red—saying, 'Return to Ayodhyā and rule the kingdom as your own.'"' ।। 3-275-37 ।।

english translation

[mArka] tama uvAca pitA bhUyò parahRSTò manujAdhipa gacchAyòdhyAM parazAdhi tavaM rAma raktAntalòcana || 3-275-37 ||

ततॊ देवान नमस्कृत्य सुहृद्भिर अभिनन्दितः महेन्द्र इव पौलॊम्या भार्यया स समेयिवान ।। ३-२७५-३८ ।।

sanskrit

'"O you of great glory, your fourteen years of exile have now been fulfilled." Thus addressed by Daśaratha, Rāma bowed to the gods; and, honored by his friends, he was reunited with his wife—like the Lord of the celestials with the daughter of Puloman.' ।। 3-275-38 ।।

english translation

tatò devAna namaskRtya suhRdbhira abhinanditaH mahendra iva paulòmyA bhAryayA sa sameyivAna || 3-275-38 ||

ततॊ वरं ददौ तस्मै अविन्ध्याय परंतपः तरिजटां चार्थमानाभ्यां यॊजयाम आस राक्षसीम ।। ३-२७५-३९ ।।

'And that chastiser of foes then granted a boon to Avindhya. He also bestowed honors and wealth upon the Rākṣasī Trijaṭā.' ।। 3-275-39 ।।

tatò varaM dadau tasmai avindhyAya paraMtapaH tarijaTAM cArthamAnAbhyAM yòjayAma Asa rAkSasIma || 3-275-39 ||

तम उवाच ततॊ बरह्मा देवैः शक्र मुखैर वृतः कौसल्या मातर इष्टांस ते वरान अद्य ददानि कान ।। ३-२७५-४० ।।

'And then Brahmā, surrounded by all the celestials with Indra at their head, said unto Rāma: "O son of Kausalyā, what boons lie dearest to your heart? Speak, and they shall be granted."' ।। 3-275-40 ।।

tama uvAca tatò barahmA devaiH zakra mukhaira vRtaH kausalyA mAtara iSTAMsa te varAna adya dadAni kAna || 3-275-40 ||
