ततः सुतुमुलं युद्धम अभवल लॊमहर्षणम दूषणानुजयॊः पार्थ लक्ष्मणस्य च धीमतः ॥ ३-२७१-२१ ॥
'The ensuing battle, O son of Pritha, between those two younger brothers of Dushana and the wise Lakshmana, was exceedingly furious, causing the bristles of the spectators to stand on end.' ॥ 3-271-21 ॥
english translation
tataH sutumulaM yuddhama abhavala lòmaharSaNama dUSaNAnujayòH pArtha lakSmaNasya ca dhImataH ॥ 3-271-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमहता शरवर्षेण राक्षसौ सॊ ऽभयवर्षत तौ चापि वीरौ संक्रुद्धाव उभौ तौ समवर्षताम ॥ ३-२७१-२२ ॥
'Lakshmana overwhelmed the two Rakshasas with a perfect shower of arrows. In response, both of the Rakshasa heroes, filled with fury, covered Lakshmana with a hail of arrows.' ॥ 3-271-22 ॥

'This fierce encounter between Vajravega, Promathin, and the mighty-armed Lakshmana lasted for only a brief while.' ॥ 3-271-23 ॥

'Then Hanuman, the son of Pavana, taking up a mountain peak, charged toward one of the brothers and struck down the Rakshasa Vajravega, causing his death.' ॥ 3-271-24 ॥

'Meanwhile, the mighty monkey Nala, with a large mass of rock, crushed Promathin, the other younger brother of Dushana.' ॥ 3-271-25 ॥
