तस्याभिद्रवतस तूर्णं कषुराभ्याम उच्छ्रितौ करौ चिच्छेद निशिताग्राभ्यां स बभूव चतुर्भुजः ॥ ३-२७१-१४ ॥

sanskrit

'As the Rakshasa rushed toward him, Lakshmana severed his upraised arms with a pair of sharp-edged arrows, each bearing razor-like tips. However, as soon as the two arms of the Rakshasa were cut off, twice that number of arms appeared in their place.' ।। 3-271-14 ।।

english translation

tasyAbhidravatasa tUrNaM kaSurAbhyAma ucchritau karau ciccheda nizitAgrAbhyAM sa babhUva caturbhujaH ॥ 3-271-14 ॥
