[वै] वसत्स्व अथ दवैतवने पाण्डवेषु महात्मसु अनुकीर्णं महारण्यं बराह्मणैः समपद्यत ॥ ३-२७-१ ॥

'Vaisampayana said, 'While the illustrious son of Pandu resided in the Dwaita woods, the great forest became increasingly populated with Brahmanas.'' ॥ 3-27-1 ॥

english translation

[vai] vasatsva atha davaitavane pANDaveSu mahAtmasu anukIrNaM mahAraNyaM barAhmaNaiH samapadyata ॥ 3-27-1 ॥

ईर्यमाणेन सततं बरह्मघॊषेण सर्वतः बरह्मलॊकसमं पुण्यम आसीद दवैतवनं सरः ॥ ३-२७-२ ॥

'And the lake within that forest, perpetually echoing with Vedic recitations, became as sacred as a second realm of Brahma.' ॥ 3-27-2 ॥

english translation

IryamANena satataM barahmaghòSeNa sarvataH barahmalòkasamaM puNyama AsIda davaitavanaM saraH ॥ 3-27-2 ॥

यजुषाम ऋचां च साम्नां च गद्यानां चैव सर्वशः आसीद उच्चार्यमाणानां निस्वनॊ हृदयंगमः ॥ ३-२७-३ ॥

'And the sounds of the Yajus, Riks, Samas, and other Vedic chants uttered by the Brahmanas were exceedingly delightful to hear.' ॥ 3-27-3 ॥

yajuSAma RcAM ca sAmnAM ca gadyAnAM caiva sarvazaH AsIda uccAryamANAnAM nisvanò hRdayaMgamaH ॥ 3-27-3 ॥

जयाघॊषः पाण्ववेयानां बरह्मघॊषश च धीमताम संसृष्टं बरह्मणा कषत्रं भूय एव वयरॊचत ॥ ३-२७-४ ॥

'The victory cries of the Pandavas And the Vedic chants of the wise ones The Kshatriya (warrior) and Brahmin (priestly) powers united Shone forth even more brilliantly.' ॥ 3-27-4 ॥

jayAghòSaH pANvaveyAnAM barahmaghòSaza ca dhImatAma saMsRSTaM barahmaNA kaSatraM bhUya eva vayaròcata ॥ 3-27-4 ॥

अथाब्रवीद बकॊ दाल्भ्यॊ धर्मराजं युधिष्ठिरम संध्यां कौन्तेयम आसीनम ऋषिभिः परिवारितम ॥ ३-२७-५ ॥

'One evening, the Rishi Vaka of the Dalvya family addressed Yudhishthira, the son of Kunti, who was seated amidst the Rishis.' ॥ 3-27-5 ॥
