निवसन्ति निराबाधा तथैव गिरिसानुषु उपायाद धरि सेना सा कषारॊदम अथ सागरम ॥ ३-२६७-२१ ॥
'They settled without hindrance, as if in the mountain slopes, and that army, making their way through, reached the salty shore and the ocean.' ॥ 3-267-21 ॥
english translation
nivasanti nirAbAdhA tathaiva girisAnuSu upAyAda dhari senA sA kaSAròdama atha sAgarama ॥ 3-267-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदवितीय सागरनिभं तद बलं बहुल धवजम वेलावनं समासाद्य निवासम अकरॊत तदा ॥ ३-२६७-२२ ॥
'Like a second ocean, that mighty army, with its countless hues, reached the shores of the sea and made its camp there.' ॥ 3-267-22 ॥

davitIya sAgaranibhaM tada balaM bahula dhavajama velAvanaM samAsAdya nivAsama akaròta tadA ॥ 3-267-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततॊ दाशरथिः शरीमान सुग्रीवं परत्यभाषत मध्ये वानरमुख्यानां पराप्तकालम इदं वचः ॥ ३-२६७-२३ ॥
'Then the illustrious son of Dasaratha, addressing Sugriva among the foremost of the monkeys, spoke these words, which were fitting for the occasion:' ॥ 3-267-23 ॥

tatò dAzarathiH zarImAna sugrIvaM paratyabhASata madhye vAnaramukhyAnAM parAptakAlama idaM vacaH ॥ 3-267-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउपायः कॊ नु भवतां महत सागरलङ्घने इयं च महती सेनासागरश चापि दुस्तरः ॥ ३-२६७-२४ ॥
'This army is vast, and the ocean is difficult to cross. What, therefore, is the means that you suggest for crossing the ocean?' ॥ 3-267-24 ॥

upAyaH kò nu bhavatAM mahata sAgaralaGghane iyaM ca mahatI senAsAgaraza cApi dustaraH ॥ 3-267-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्रान्ये वयाहरन्ति सम वानराः पटु मानिनः समर्था लङ्घने सिन्धॊर न तु कृत्स्नस्य वानराः ॥ ३-२६७-२५ ॥
'At these words, many boastful monkeys replied, 'We are fully capable of crossing the sea.' However, this response was of little value, as not all could employ that method.' ॥ 3-267-25 ॥

tatrAnye vayAharanti sama vAnarAH paTu mAninaH samarthA laGghane sindhòra na tu kRtsnasya vAnarAH ॥ 3-267-25 ॥
