'Hanuman, the son of the Wind-god, led the van of that host, while the rear was safeguarded by the fearless son of Sumitra.' ॥ 3-267-16 ॥

बद्धगॊधाङ्गुलि तराणौ राघवौ तत्र रेजतुः वृतौ हरि महामात्रैश चन्द्रसूर्यौ गरहैर इव ॥ ३-२६७-१७ ॥
'Surrounded by the monkey-chiefs, the princes of Raghu’s house, with their fingers wrapped in guana skin, shone as they moved, like the Sun and the Moon amidst the planets.' ॥ 3-267-17 ॥

परबभौ हरिसैन्यं तच छाल तालशिलायुधम सुमहच छालि भवनं यथा सूर्यॊदयं परति ॥ ३-२६७-१८ ॥
'And that monkey host, armed with stones and Sala and Tala trees, resembled a vast field of corn bathed in the morning sun.' ॥ 3-267-18 ॥

नल नीलाङ्गदक्राथ मैन्द दविरदपालिता ययौ सुमहती सेना राघवस्यार्थसिद्धये ॥ ३-२६७-१९ ॥
'Protected by Nala, Nila, Angada, Kratha, Mainda, and Dwivida, that mighty army marched forth to fulfill the purpose of Raghava.' ॥ 3-267-19 ॥

विधिवत सुप्रशस्तेषु बहुमूलफलेषु च परभूतमधु मांसेषु वारिमत्सु शिवेषु च ॥ ३-२६७-२० ॥
'According to the proper rites, with offerings of abundant roots, fruits, honey, meats, and auspicious waters, the offerings were made.' ॥ 3-267-20 ॥
