किं रॊदिषि तवं पतिता धरण्यां; किं ते मुखं शुष्यति दीनवर्णम कच चिन न पापैः सुनृशंस कृद भिः; परमाथिता दरौपदी राजपुत्री अनिद्य रूपा सुविशालनेत्रा; शरीरतुल्या कुरुपुंगवानाम ॥ ३-२५३-११ ॥
'Why dost thou weep, lying upon the ground? Why is thy face so sorrowful and drained of color? I hope no cruel wretches have wronged Princess Draupadi— She, of incomparable beauty and wide, enchanting eyes, Who is as dear as life itself to each of those mighty Kurus.' ॥ 3-253-11 ॥
