यथा च वेणुः कदली नलॊ वा; फलन्त्य अभावाय न भूतये ऽऽतमनः तथैव मां तैः परिरक्ष्यमाणम; आदास्यसे कर्कटकीव गर्भम ।। ३-२५२-९ ।।

sanskrit

'The bamboo, the reed, and the plantain bear fruit only to wither and perish, never to grow any further. Just as the crab brings about its own destruction, you will bring harm upon yourself by challenging me, for I am protected by these mighty heroes!' ।। 3-252-9 ।।

english translation

yathA ca veNuH kadalI nalò vA; phalantya abhAvAya na bhUtaye ''tamanaH tathaiva mAM taiH parirakSyamANama; AdAsyase karkaTakIva garbhama || 3-252-9 ||
