शरमेणॊपार्जितं तयक्तुं दुःखं शुद्धेन चेतसा तत सर्वं भवता साधॊ यथावद उपपादितम ।। ३-२४६-२६ ।।

sanskrit

'Indeed, it must be hard to renounce something earned through effort with a pure spirit. Yet, O pious one, all this has been rightly achieved by you. In your company, we feel both honored and grateful.' ।। 3-246-26 ।।

english translation

zarameNòpArjitaM tayaktuM duHkhaM zuddhena cetasA tata sarvaM bhavatA sAdhò yathAvada upapAditama || 3-246-26 ||

'When united with you, we are protected, blessed , and treated equally. [Through this] comes mastery over the senses, steadfastness, sharing with others, self-control, and tranquility.' ।। 3-246-27 ।।

'Compassion, truth, and righteousness (dharma) - all these are established in you. Through your actions, you have conquered the worlds and attained the supreme state.' ।। 3-246-28 ।।

dayA satyaM ca dharmaza ca tavayi sarvaM paratiSThitama jitAsa te karmabhira lòkAH parApò 'si paramAM gatima || 3-246-28 ||

'Indeed, even the dwellers of heaven are proclaiming your mighty acts of charity. O observer of vows, you shall ascend to heaven with your own body.' ।। 3-246-29 ।।

'Thus, while the sage Durvasa was speaking, a celestial messenger, arriving in a divine chariot, appeared before Mudgala.' ।। 3-246-30 ।।

itya evaM vadatasa tasya tadA durvAsasò muneH devadUtò vimAnena mudgalaM paratyupasthitaH || 3-246-30 ||
