[वै] ततस तु शिल्पिनः सर्वे अमात्यप्रवराश च ह विदुरश च महाप्राज्ञॊ धार्तराष्ट्रे नयवेदयत ॥ ३-२४२-१ ॥
'O king, all that thou hadst commanded hath been accomplished in due order. Let the sacrifice now commence without delay.' ॥ 3-242-1 ॥
english translation
सज्जं करतुवरं राजन कालप्राप्तं च भारत सौवर्णं च कृतं दिव्यं लाङ्गलं सुमहाधनम ॥ ३-२४२-२ ॥
'O foremost of kings, all has been prepared according to the scriptures and proper rites. The appointed time has arrived, and the golden plough has been constructed.' ॥ 3-242-2 ॥
english translation
एतच छरुत्वा नृपश्रेष्ठॊ धार्तराष्ट्रॊ विशां पते आज्ञापयाम आस नृपः करतुराजप्रवर्तनम ॥ ३-२४२-३ ॥
'Hearing this, O monarch, that foremost of kings, Dhritarashtra's son, ordered the commencement of that supreme sacrifice.' ॥ 3-242-3 ॥
english translation
ततः परववृते यज्ञः परभूतान्नः सुसंस्कृतः दीक्षितश चापि गान्धारिर यथा शास्तं यथाक्रमम ॥ ३-२४२-४ ॥
'Then the grand sacrifice commenced, sanctified by sacred mantras and abundant with rich offerings of food and drink. Gandhari’s son was duly initiated in strict accordance with the sacred rites.' ॥ 3-242-4 ॥

परहृष्टॊ धृतराष्ट्रॊ ऽभूद विदुरश च महायशाः भीष्मॊ दरॊणः कृपः कर्णॊ गान्धारी च यशस्विनी ॥ ३-२४२-५ ॥
'Dhritarashtra, the wise Vidura, the venerable Bhishma, along with Drona, Kripa, and Karna, as well as the revered Gandhari, all rejoiced in the splendor of the occasion.' ॥ 3-242-5 ॥
