न मृतॊ जयते शत्रूञ जीवन भद्राणि पश्यति मृतस्य भद्राणि कुतः कौरवेय कुतॊ जयः न कालॊ ऽदय विषादस्य भयस्य मरणस्य वा ।। ३-२४०-३६ ।।

sanskrit

'No dead man conquers his foes; it is only while alive that he witnesses his prosperity. What good is there for the dead, and, O Kauraveya, where is his victory? Therefore, this is no time for grief, fear, or thoughts of death.' ।। 3-240-36 ।।

english translation

na mRtò jayate zatrUJa jIvana bhadrANi pazyati mRtasya bhadrANi kutaH kauraveya kutò jayaH na kAlò 'daya viSAdasya bhayasya maraNasya vA || 3-240-36 ||
