ते ऽपि शक्त्या महात्मानः परतियॊत्स्यन्ति पाण्डवाः वधं चैषां करिष्यन्ति दैवयुक्ता महाबलाः ॥ ३-२४०-१६ ॥
'Today, thou shalt not escape with thy life from my hands." And the five illustrious sons of Pandu, Endowed with great strength and favored by fate, Shall rise against them and bring about their destruction.' ॥ 3-240-16 ॥

दैत्य रक्षॊगणाश चापि संभूताः कषत्रयॊनिषु यॊत्स्यन्ति युधि विक्रम्य शत्रुभिस तव पार्थिव गदाभिर मुसलैः खड्गैः शस्त्रैर उच्चावचैस तथा ॥ ३-२४०-१७ ॥
'And, O king, many Daityas and Rakshasas, Born in the Kshatriya order, Will display great prowess in battle, Wielding maces, clubs, lances, And weapons of superior might against thy foes.' ॥ 3-240-17 ॥
english translation
यच च ते ऽनतर्गतं वीर भयम अर्जुन संभवम तत्रापि विहितॊ ऽसमाभिर वधॊपायॊ ऽरजुनस्य वै ॥ ३-२४०-१८ ॥
'And, O hero, as for the fear in thy heart arising from Arjuna, we have already devised the means to bring about his death.' ॥ 3-240-18 ॥
english translation
हतस्य नरकस्यात्मा कर्ण मूर्तिम उपाश्रितः तद वैरं संस्मरन वीर यॊत्स्यते केशवार्जुनौ ॥ ३-२४०-१९ ॥
'The soul of the slain Naraka has taken form as Karna. Remembering his past enmity, he will battle against Keshava and Arjuna.' ॥ 3-240-19 ॥

स ते विक्रमशौण्डीरॊ रणे पार्थं विजेष्यति कर्णः परहरतां शरेष्ठः सर्वांश चारीन महारथः ॥ ३-२४०-२० ॥
'And that mighty warrior, the foremost of those who wield weapons, proud of his prowess, will vanquish Arjuna in battle, along with all thy enemies.' ॥ 3-240-20 ॥
