तेषां तु शरवर्षाणि सव्यसाची परंतपः अस्त्रैः संवार्य तेजस्वी गन्धर्वान परत्यविध्यत ॥ ३-२३४-१६ ॥
'But Arjuna, the chastiser of foes, endowed with great power, countered their shower of arrows with his own weapons and, in turn, began to strike them down.' ॥ 3-234-16 ॥
english translation
teSAM tu zaravarSANi savyasAcI paraMtapaH astraiH saMvArya tejasvI gandharvAna paratyavidhyata ॥ 3-234-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसथूणाकर्णेन्द्रजालं च सौरं चापि तथार्जुनः आग्नेयं चापि सौम्यं च ससर्ज कुरुनन्दनः ॥ ३-२३४-१७ ॥
'Then Arjuna, the son of the Kuru dynasty, released his famous weapons—Sthunakarna, Indrajala, Saura, Agneya, and Saumya.' ॥ 3-234-17 ॥

sathUNAkarNendrajAlaM ca sauraM cApi tathArjunaH AgneyaM cApi saumyaM ca sasarja kurunandanaH ॥ 3-234-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptते दह्यमाना गन्हर्वाः कुन्तीपुत्रस्य सायकैः दैतेया इव शक्रेण विषादम अगमन परम ॥ ३-२३४-१८ ॥
'Consumed by the fiery weapons of Kunti’s son, the Gandharvas began to suffer intensely, like the sons of Diti scorched by Sakra's thunderbolt.' ॥ 3-234-18 ॥

te dahyamAnA ganharvAH kuntIputrasya sAyakaiH daiteyA iva zakreNa viSAdama agamana parama ॥ 3-234-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptऊर्ध्वम आक्रममाणाश च शरजालेन वारिताः विसर्पमाणा भल्लैश च वार्यन्ते सव्यसाचिना ॥ ३-२३४-१९ ॥
'When they attacked Arjuna from above, he repelled them with his net of arrows. And when they surrounded him on all sides on the ground, he thwarted them with his crescent-shaped arrows.' ॥ 3-234-19 ॥

'Seeing the Gandharvas struck with fear by Kunti’s son, Chitrasena, O Bharata, charged at Dhananjaya, armed with a mace.' ॥ 3-234-20 ॥
