दुर्यॊधनं चित्रसेनॊ विरथं पतितं भुवि अभिद्रुत्य महाबाहुर जीवग्राहम अथाग्रहीत ॥ ३-२३१-६ ॥
'Seeing Duryodhana without his chariot, his horses, and his charioteer slain, the powerful Chitrasena swiftly advanced towards him. Seizing the fallen Duryodhana, it seemed as though he had captured his very life itself.' ॥ 3-231-6 ॥

तस्मिन गृहीते राजेन्द्र सथितं दुःशासनं रथे पर्यगृह्णन्त गन्धर्वाः परिवार्य समन्ततः ॥ ३-२३१-७ ॥
'After the capture of King Duryodhana, the Gandharvas, surrounding Dussasana, who was still seated on his chariot, also took him prisoner.' ॥ 3-231-7 ॥
english translation
विविंशतिं चित्रसेनम आदायान्ये परदुद्रुवुः विन्दानुविन्दाव अपरे राजदारांश च सर्वशः ॥ ३-२३१-८ ॥
'Some Gandharvas seized Vivinsati and Chitrasena, while others captured Vinda and Anuvinda, and still others took the ladies of the royal household.' ॥ 3-231-8 ॥
english translation
सैन्यास तु धार्तराष्ट्रस्य गन्धर्वैः समभिद्रुताः पूर्वं परभग्नैः सहिताः पाण्डवान अभ्ययुस तदा ॥ ३-२३१-९ ॥
'The warriors of Duryodhana, who had been defeated and routed by the Gandharvas, joined those who had fled earlier and made their way towards the Pandavas, who were residing nearby.' ॥ 3-231-9 ॥

शकटापण वेश्याश च यानयुग्यं च सर्वशः शरणं पाण्डवाञ जग्मुर हरियमाणे महीपतौ ॥ ३-२३१-१० ॥
'The cart-drivers, merchants, courtesans, and all those with carriages and teams of horses, when their king was being taken away, sought refuge with the Pandavas.' ॥ 3-231-10 ॥
