[वै] ततस ते सहिताः सर्वे दुर्यॊधनम उपागमन अब्रुवंश च महाराज यद ऊचुः कौरवं परति ॥ ३-२३०-१ ॥
'Vaiśampāyana said, "O King, the soldiers then returned to Duryodhana and reported to him every word spoken by the Gandharvas."' ॥ 3-230-1 ॥
english translation
गन्धर्वैर वारिते सैन्ये धार्तराष्ट्रः परतापवान अमर्षपूर्णः सैन्यानि परत्यभाषत भारत ॥ ३-२३०-२ ॥
'And, O Bhārata, when Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son saw his troops obstructed by the Gandharvas, his fury flared, and he spoke with wrathful resolve.' ॥ 3-230-2 ॥
english translation
शासतैनान अधर्मज्ञान मम विप्रियकारिणः यदि परक्रीडितॊ देवैः सर्वैः सह शतक्रतुः ॥ ३-२३०-३ ॥
'And the king said to his soldiers, "Punish these unrighteous ones who dare to defy my will, even if they have come here to sport, accompanied by all the celestials and Indra, the lord of a hundred sacrifices."' ॥ 3-230-3 ॥

दुर्यॊधन वचॊ शरुत्वा धार्तराष्ट्रा महाबलाः सर्व एवाभिसंनद्धा यॊधाश चापि सहस्रशः ॥ ३-२३०-४ ॥
'Hearing Duryodhana’s command, the mighty sons and officers of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, along with thousands of warriors, swiftly armed themselves for battle.' ॥ 3-230-4 ॥
english translation
ततः परमथ्य गन्धर्वांस तद वनं विविशुर बलात सिंहनादेन महता पूरयन्तॊ दिशॊ दश ॥ ३-२३०-५ ॥
'With mighty leonine roars that echoed in all directions, they charged at the Gandharvas guarding the gates and forced their way into the forest.' ॥ 3-230-5 ॥
