ततॊ ऽपरैर अवार्यन्त गन्धर्वैः कुरु सैनिकाः ते वार्यमाणा गन्धर्वैः साम्नैव वसुधाधिप तान अनादृत्य गन्धर्वांस तद वनं विविशुर महत ।। ३-२३०-६ ।।

sanskrit

'But as the Kuru soldiers advanced, other Gandharvas emerged and barred their path. Though the Gandharvas gently forbade their advance, the Kuru soldiers, paying them no heed, began to enter the vast forest.' ।। 3-230-6 ।।

english translation

tatò 'paraira avAryanta gandharvaiH kuru sainikAH te vAryamANA gandharvaiH sAmnaiva vasudhAdhipa tAna anAdRtya gandharvAMsa tada vanaM vivizura mahata || 3-230-6 ||

sanskrit

'When the rangers of the sky saw that the warriors of Dhritarashtra, along with their king, could not be deterred by words, they all went to their king, Citrasena, and reported everything to him.' ।। 3-230-7 ।।

english translation

yadA vAcA na tiSThanti dhArtarASTrAH sarAjakAH tatasa te khecarAH sarve citrasene nayavedayana || 3-230-7 ||

गन्धर्वराजस तान सर्वान अब्रवीत कौरवान परति अनार्याञ शासतेत्य एवं चित्रसेनॊ ऽतयमर्षणः ।। ३-२३०-८ ।।

sanskrit

'When Citrasena, the king of the Gandharvas, learned of all this, he was filled with rage. Addressing his followers, he commanded, "Punish these wicked and unrighteous Kauravas."' ।। 3-230-8 ।।

english translation

gandharvarAjasa tAna sarvAna abravIta kauravAna parati anAryAJa zAsatetya evaM citrasenò 'tayamarSaNaH || 3-230-8 ||

'And, O Bhārata, when the Gandharvas were commanded by Citrasena, they rushed, weapons in hand, toward the ranks of the Dhritarashtra warriors.' ।। 3-230-9 ।।

anujJAtAsa tu gandharvAza citrasenena bhArata paragRhItAyudhAH sarve dhArtarASTrAna abhidravana || 3-230-9 ||

sanskrit

'And seeing the Gandharvas charging towards them with weapons raised, the Kuru warriors, at the sight of Duryodhana, fled in all directions in panic.' ।। 3-230-10 ।।

tAna dRSTvA patataH zIghrAna gandharvAna udyatAyudhAna sarve te parAdravana saMkhye dhArtarASTrasya pazyataH || 3-230-10 ||
