तेन तत संवृतं दृष्ट्वा ते राजपरिचारकाः परतिजग्मुस ततॊ राजन यत्र दुर्यॊधनॊ नृपः ॥ ३-२२९-२१ ॥
'And the attendants of the Kuru king, finding the lake closed by the king of the Gandharvas, returned, O monarch, to where King Duryodhana was.' ॥ 3-229-21 ॥
english translation
स तु तेषां वचॊ शरुत्वा सैनिकान युद्धदुर्मदान परेषयाम आस कौरव्य उत्सारयत तान इति ॥ ३-२२९-२२ ॥
'And Duryodhana, having heard these words, dispatched a number of his warriors, difficult to subdue in battle, commanding them to drive away the Gandharvas.' ॥ 3-229-22 ॥

तस्य तद वचनं शरुत्वा राज्ञः सेनाग्रयायिनः सरॊ दवैतवनं गत्वा गन्धर्वान इदम अब्रुवन ॥ ३-२२९-२३ ॥
'And those warriors who formed the vanguard of the Kuru army, hearing the king's words, returned to the lake of Dwaitavana and, addressing the Gandharvas, said:' ॥ 3-229-23 ॥

राजा दुर्यॊधनॊ नाम धृतराष्ट्र सुतॊ बली विजिहीर्षुर इहायाति तदर्थम अपसर्पत ॥ ३-२२९-२४ ॥
'The mighty king Duryodhana, the son of Dhritarashtra, is coming here for sport. Stand aside, therefore!' ॥ 3-229-24 ॥

एवम उक्तास तु गन्धर्वाः परहसन्तॊ विशां पते परत्यब्रुवंस तान पुरुषान इदं सुपरुषं वचः ॥ ३-२२९-२५ ॥
'Thus addressed by them, O king, the Gandharvas laughed and replied to those men with these harsh words:' ॥ 3-229-25 ॥
