स ताञ शरैर विनिर्भिन्दन गजान बध्नन महावने रमणीयेषु देशेषु गराहयाम आस वै मृगान ॥ ३-२२९-११ ॥
'And the king, piercing with his arrows the thousands of animals in the dense forest, caused the deer to be caught in the more delightful parts of the woods.' ॥ 3-229-11 ॥
english translation
गॊरसान उपयुञ्जान उपभॊगांश च भारत पश्यन सुरमणीयानि पुष्पितानि वनानि च ॥ ३-२२९-१२ ॥
'Oh noble one, behold the delightful, blooming forests while enjoying the pleasures of the cows.' ॥ 3-229-12 ॥
english translation
मत्तभ्रमर जुष्टानि बर्हिणाभिरुतानि च अगच्छद आनुपूर्व्येण पुण्यं दवैतवनं सरः ऋद्ध्या परमया युक्तॊ महेन्द्र इव वज्रभृत ॥ ३-२२९-१३ ॥
'The lake, adorned with intoxicated bees and resonating with the calls of peacocks, was approached in sequence, the sacred Dwaitavana lake, which, endowed with supreme prosperity, resembled the abode of Indra, the wielder of the thunderbolt.' ॥ 3-229-13 ॥

यदृच्छया च तद अहॊ धर्मपुत्रॊ युधिष्ठिरः ईजे राजर्षियज्ञेन सद्यस्केन विशां पते दिव्येन विधिना राजा वन्येन कुरुसत्तमः ॥ ३-२२९-१४ ॥
'By chance, oh son of dharma Yudhishthira, the best of Kurus performed a divine, forest-based sacrifice, an instantaneous royal sage ritual, oh lord of the people.' ॥ 3-229-14 ॥
english translation
कृत्वा निवेशम अभितः सरसस तस्य कौरवः दरौपद्या सहितॊ धीमान धर्मपत्न्या नराधिपः ॥ ३-२२९-१५ ॥
'And, O best of the Kuru race, King Yudhishthira the just, endowed with great wisdom, was then, O monarch, residing near that lake at his will.' ॥ 3-229-15 ॥
