[धृत] मृगया शॊभना तात गवां च समवेक्षणम विश्रम्भस तु न गन्तव्यॊ बल्लवानाम इति समरे ।। ३-२२८-६ ।।

sanskrit

'Dhritarashtra replied, "The hunting of deer and the inspection of cattle are indeed fitting, my child. However, I believe that the herdsmen cannot be trusted."' ।। 3-228-6 ।।

english translation

[dhRta] mRgayA zòbhanA tAta gavAM ca samavekSaNama vizrambhasa tu na gantavyò ballavAnAma iti samare || 3-228-6 ||

'But we have heard that those tigers among men, the Pandavas, are now staying near the cattle stations. Therefore, I think you should not go there yourselves!' ।। 3-228-7 ।।

te tu tatra naravyAghrAH samIpa iti naH zarutama atò nAbhyanujAnAmi gamanaM tatra vaH savayama || 3-228-7 ||

छद्मना निर्जितास ते हि कर्शिताश च महावने तपॊनित्याश च राधेय समर्थाश च महारथाः ।। ३-२२८-८ ।।

'Defeated through deceit, they now endure great suffering in the depths of the forest. O Radheya, these mighty warriors, naturally capable, are now immersed in the practice of ascetic austerities.' ।। 3-228-8 ।।

chadmanA nirjitAsa te hi karzitAza ca mahAvane tapònityAza ca rAdheya samarthAza ca mahArathAH || 3-228-8 ||

धर्मराजॊ न संक्रुध्येद भीमसेनस तव अमर्षणः यज्ञसेनस्य दुहिता तेज एव तु केवलम ।। ३-२२८-९ ।।

'King Yudhishthira will not allow his wrath to arise, but Bhima is naturally impetuous. The daughter of Yajnasena embodies energy itself.' ।। 3-228-9 ।।

dharmarAjò na saMkrudhyeda bhImasenasa tava amarSaNaH yajJasenasya duhitA teja eva tu kevalama || 3-228-9 ||

यूयं चाप्य अपराध्येयुर दर्पमॊहसमन्विताः ततॊ विनिर्दहेयुस ते तपसा हि समन्विताः ।। ३-२२८-१० ।।

'And you too, filled with pride and delusion, would commit wrongdoing/offense; then they (or those consequences) would consume/burn you, for they are endowed with spiritual power/penance.' ।। 3-228-10 ।।

yUyaM cApya aparAdhyeyura darpamòhasamanvitAH tatò vinirdaheyusa te tapasA hi samanvitAH || 3-228-10 ||
