ततॊ भीष्मस्य राज्ञश च निशम्य गमनं परति वयवसायं करिष्ये ऽहम अनुनीय पितामहम ॥ ३-२२७-१६ ॥
'Hearing then the words of Bhishma and the king regarding our journey, I will settle everything, beseeching our grandfather.' ॥ 3-227-16 ॥
english translation
tatò bhISmasya rAjJaza ca nizamya gamanaM parati vayavasAyaM kariSye 'hama anunIya pitAmahama ॥ 3-227-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतथेत्य उक्त्वा तु ते सर्वे जग्मुर आवसथान परति वयुषितायां रजन्यां तु कर्णॊ राजानम अभ्ययात ॥ ३-२२७-१७ ॥
'Having said 'So be it,' they all departed to their respective quarters. And when the night had passed, Karna went to the king.' ॥ 3-227-17 ॥

tathetya uktvA tu te sarve jagmura AvasathAna parati vayuSitAyAM rajanyAM tu karNò rAjAnama abhyayAta ॥ 3-227-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततॊ दुर्यॊधनं कर्णः परहसन्न इदम अब्रवीत उपायः परिदृष्टॊ ऽयं तं निबॊध जनेश्वर ॥ ३-२२७-१८ ॥
'Coming to him, Karna, with a smile, spoke to Duryodhana: 'A plan has been devised by me. Listen to it, O lord of men!'' ॥ 3-227-18 ॥

tatò duryòdhanaM karNaH parahasanna idama abravIta upAyaH paridRSTò 'yaM taM nibòdha janezvara ॥ 3-227-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptघॊषा दवैतवने सर्वे तवत्प्रतीक्षा नराधिप घॊषयात्रापदेशेन गमिष्यामॊ न संशयः ॥ ३-२२७-१९ ॥
'Indeed, O king, our herds are now waiting in the woods of Dwaitavana, anticipating thy arrival! ' ॥ 3-227-19 ॥

ghòSA davaitavane sarve tavatpratIkSA narAdhipa ghòSayAtrApadezena gamiSyAmò na saMzayaH ॥ 3-227-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउचितं हि सदा गन्तुं घॊषयात्रां विशां पते एवं च तवां पिता राजन समनुज्ञातुम अर्हति ॥ ३-२२७-२० ॥
'There is no doubt that we may all go there under the pretext of overseeing our cattle stations, for it is customary and proper for kings to frequently visit their herds and stations.' ॥ 3-227-20 ॥

ucitaM hi sadA gantuM ghòSayAtrAM vizAM pate evaM ca tavAM pitA rAjana samanujJAtuma arhati ॥ 3-227-20 ॥
