तथा कथयमानौ तौ घॊषयात्रा विनिश्चयम गान्धारराजः शकुनिः परत्युवाच हसन्न इव ॥ ३-२२७-२१ ॥

'"If this be the motive put forth, thy father, O prince, will certainly grant thee permission!" And while Duryodhana and Karna were thus conversing laughingly, Sakuni addressed them and said.' ॥ 3-227-21 ॥

english translation

tathA kathayamAnau tau ghòSayAtrA vinizcayama gAndhArarAjaH zakuniH paratyuvAca hasanna iva ॥ 3-227-21 ॥

उपायॊ ऽयं मया दृष्टॊ गमनाय निरामयः अनुज्ञास्यति नॊ राजा चॊदयिष्यति चाप्य उत ॥ ३-२२७-२२ ॥

'This plan, free from difficulties, is the one I too have seen for going there! The king will surely grant us permission, or even send us there of his own accord.' ॥ 3-227-22 ॥

upAyò 'yaM mayA dRSTò gamanAya nirAmayaH anujJAsyati nò rAjA còdayiSyati cApya uta ॥ 3-227-22 ॥

घॊषा दवैतवने सर्वे तवत्प्रतीक्षा नराधिप घॊषयात्रापदेशेन गमिष्यामॊ न संशयः ॥ ३-२२७-२३ ॥

'Our herds are waiting for you in the woods of Dwaitavana. Without a doubt, we can go there under the pretext of overseeing our cattle stations!' ॥ 3-227-23 ॥

ghòSA davaitavane sarve tavatpratIkSA narAdhipa ghòSayAtrApadezena gamiSyAmò na saMzayaH ॥ 3-227-23 ॥

ततः परहसिताः सर्वे ते ऽनयॊन्यस्य तलान ददुः तद एव च विनिश्चित्य ददृशुः कुरुसत्तमम ॥ ३-२२७-२४ ॥

'They then all three laughed together, exchanging gestures of camaraderie. Having reached this conclusion, they proceeded to meet the chief of the Kurus.' ॥ 3-227-24 ॥
