[दरौ] इमं तु ते मार्गम अपेतदॊषं; वक्ष्यामि चित्तग्रहणाय भर्तुः यस्मिन यथावत सखिवर्तमाना; भर्तारम आच्छेत्स्यसि कामिनीभ्यः ॥ ३-२२३-१ ॥
'Draupadi said, "I shall now indicate to you a way, free from deceit, to win the heart of your husbands. By following this path diligently, dear friend, you will be able to draw your lord's attention away from other women."' ॥ 3-223-1 ॥

नैतादृशं दैवतम अस्ति सत्ये; सर्वेषु लॊकेषु सदैवतेषु यथा पतिस तस्य हि सर्वकामा; लभ्याः परसादे कुपितश च हन्यात ॥ ३-२२३-२ ॥
'In all the worlds, including the realm of the celestials, there is no god equal to the husband, O Satyabhama. When he is pleased with you, you may obtain all your desires; but when he is angry, you may lose everything.' ॥ 3-223-2 ॥
english translation
तस्माद अपत्यं विविधाश च भॊगाः; शय्यासनान्य अद्भुतदर्शनानि वस्त्राणि माल्यानि तथैव गन्धाः; सवर्गश च लॊकॊ विषमा च कीर्तिः ॥ ३-२२३-३ ॥
'It is from her husband that the wife obtains offspring and various articles of enjoyment. It is from thy husband that thou mayst receive handsome beds and seats, robes, garlands, perfumes, great fame, and even heaven itself hereafter.' ॥ 3-223-3 ॥

सुखं सुखेनेह न जातु लभ्यं; दुःखेन साध्वी लभते सुखानि सा कृष्णम आराधय सौहृदेन; परेम्णा च नित्यं परतिकर्मणा च ॥ ३-२२३-४ ॥
'One cannot obtain happiness here by easy means. Indeed, the chaste woman attains well-being through suffering. Therefore, always worship Krishna with friendship, love, and endure physical suffering.' ॥ 3-223-4 ॥

तथाशनैश चारुभिर अग्र्यमाल्यैर; दाक्षिण्ययॊगैर विविधैश च गन्धैः अस्याः परियॊ ऽसमीति यथा विदित्वा; तवाम एव संश्लिष्यति सर्वभावैः ॥ ३-२२३-५ ॥
'And do thou also act in such a manner, offering handsome seats, excellent garlands, various perfumes, and prompt service, so that he may become devoted to thee, thinking, 'I am truly loved by her!'' ॥ 3-223-5 ॥
