पापानुगास तु पापास ताः पतीन उपसृजन्त्य उत न जातु विप्रियं भर्तुः सत्रिया कार्यं कथं चन ॥ ३-२२२-१६ ॥
'These wicked women, ever treading the path of sin, sometimes harm their husbands through such means. But a wife should never, under any circumstances, cause the slightest injury to her lord.' ॥ 3-222-16 ॥
english translation
वर्ताम्य अहं तु यां वृत्तिं पाण्डवेषु महात्मसु तां सर्वां शृणु मे सत्यां सत्यभामे यशस्विनि ॥ ३-२२२-१७ ॥
'O glorious Satyabhama, listen to my true account of all that happened with the noble-souled Pandavas.' ॥ 3-222-17 ॥

अहंकारं विहायाहं कामक्रॊधौ च सर्वदा सदारान पाण्डवान नित्यं परयतॊपचराम्य अहम ॥ ३-२२२-१८ ॥
'Having abandoned ego, desire and anger at all times, I constantly served the Pandavas along with their wives.' ॥ 3-222-18 ॥

परणयं परतिसंगृह्य निधायात्मानम आत्मनि शुश्रूषुर निरभीमाना पतीनां चित्तरक्षणी ॥ ३-२२२-१९ ॥
'Restraining jealousy, with deep devotion of heart, and without feeling any sense of degradation in the services I perform, I wait upon my husbands.' ॥ 3-222-19 ॥

दुर्व्याहृताच छङ्कमाना दुःखिता ददुरवेक्षितात दुरासिताद दुर्व्रजिताद इङ्गिताध्यासिताद अपि ॥ ३-२२२-२० ॥
'Ever cautious not to utter words that are evil or false, or to act, look, sit, or walk inappropriately, or cast glances revealing the feelings of my heart.' ॥ 3-222-20 ॥
