यदैव भर्ता जानीयान मन्त्रमूलपरां सत्रियम उद्विजेत तदैवास्याः सर्वाद वेश्म गताद इव ॥ ३-२२२-११ ॥
'When the husband learns that his wife is devoted to incantations and potions, from that moment he begins to fear her, like a serpent lying in his sleeping chamber.' ॥ 3-222-11 ॥

उद्विग्नस्य कुतः शान्तिर अशान्तस्य कुतः सुखम न जातु वशगॊ भर्ता सत्रियाः सयान मन्त्रकारणात ॥ ३-२२२-१२ ॥
'Can a man troubled with fear find peace, and how can one without peace attain happiness? A husband can never be made obedient by his wife's incantations.' ॥ 3-222-12 ॥

अमित्रप्रहितांश चापि गदान परमदारुणान मूलप्रवादैर हि विषं परयच्छन्ति जिघांसवः ॥ ३-२२२-१३ ॥
'We hear of painful diseases being transmitted by enemies. Indeed, those who wish to harm others send poison disguised as customary gifts.' ॥ 3-222-13 ॥

जिह्वया यानि पुरुषस तवचा वाप्य उपसेवते तत्र चूर्णानि दत्तानि हन्युः कषिप्रम असंशयम ॥ ३-२२२-१४ ॥
'Whatever powders are consumed by a man, whether through his tongue or skin, there is no doubt that they quickly cause harm and bring about death.' ॥ 3-222-14 ॥

जलॊदर समायुक्ताः शवित्रिणः पलितास तथा अपुमांसः कृताः सत्रीभिर जडान्धबधिरास तथा ॥ ३-२२२-१५ ॥
'Women have sometimes caused dropsy, leprosy, decrepitude, impotence, idiocy, blindness, and deafness in men.' ॥ 3-222-15 ॥
