यः पश्यति नरॊ देवाड जाग्रद वा शयितॊ ऽपि वा उन्माद्यति स तु कषिप्रं तं तु देव गरहं विदुः ।। ३-२१९-४६ ।।

'The man who beholds gods, whether awake or asleep, soon falls into madness. The spirit responsible for these hallucinations is known as the celestial spirit.' ।। 3-219-46 ।।

english translation

yaH pazyati narò devADa jAgrada vA zayitò 'pi vA unmAdyati sa tu kaSipraM taM tu deva garahaM viduH || 3-219-46 ||

आसीनश च शयानश च यः पश्यति नरः पितॄन उन्माद्यति स तु कषिप्रं स जञेयस तु पितृग्रहः ।। ३-२१९-४७ ।।

'When a person, while seated or lying down, sees his deceased ancestors, He soon loses his sanity, and the spirit responsible for this illusion is called the ancestral spirit.' ।। 3-219-47 ।।

अवमन्यति यः सिद्धान करुद्धाश चापि शपन्ति यम उन्माद्यति स तु कषिप्रं जञेयः सिद्धग्रहस तु सः ।। ३-२१९-४८ ।।

'The man who disrespects the Siddhas and is cursed by them in return soon loses his mind, and the evil influence responsible for this is known as the Siddha spirit..' ।। 3-219-48 ।।

avamanyati yaH siddhAna karuddhAza cApi zapanti yama unmAdyati sa tu kaSipraM jaJeyaH siddhagrahasa tu saH || 3-219-48 ||

उपाघ्राति च यॊ गन्धान रसांश चापि पृथग्विधान उन्माद्यति स तु कषिप्रं स जञेयॊ राक्षसॊ गरहः ।। ३-२१९-४९ ।।

'The spirit, by whose influence a man perceives sweet odors and tastes various flavors (when no such substances are present), and soon becomes tormented, is called the Rakshasa spirit.' ।। 3-219-49 ।।

upAghrAti ca yò gandhAna rasAMza cApi pRthagvidhAna unmAdyati sa tu kaSipraM sa jaJeyò rAkSasò garahaH || 3-219-49 ||

गन्धर्वाश चापि यं दिव्याः संस्पृशन्ति नरं भुवि उन्माद्यति स तु कषिप्रं गरहॊ गान्धर्व एव सः ।। ३-२१९-५० ।।

'And the spirit, by whose influence celestial musicians (Gandharvas) merge their essence into a human being, causing him to fall into madness instantly, is called the Gandharva spirit.' ।। 3-219-50 ।।
