असूर्ये च भवेत सूर्यस तथाचन्द्रे च चन्द्रमाः भवत्य अग्निश च वायुश च पृथिव्य आपश च कारणैः ॥ ३-२१८-११ ॥
'He serves the purposes of the sun and the moon in places where there is neither sun nor moon. When needed, he acts for fire, air, earth, and water.' ॥ 3-218-11 ॥
english translation
एतद इन्द्रेण कर्तव्यम इन्द्रे हि विपुलं बलम तवं च वीर बलश्रेष्ठस तस्माद इन्द्रॊ भवस्व नः ॥ ३-२१८-१२ ॥
'These are the duties of Indra; his capacities are vast. You too are mighty; therefore, great hero, may you become our Indra.' ॥ 3-218-12 ॥
english translation
[षक्र] भवस्वेन्द्रॊ महाबाहॊ सर्वेषां नः सुखावहः अभिषिच्यस्व चैवाद्य पराप्तरूपॊ ऽसि सत्तम ॥ ३-२१८-१३ ॥
'Sakra said, "O mighty being, make us happy by becoming our lord. You are truly deserving of this honor; therefore, we shall anoint you today."' ॥ 3-218-13 ॥
english translation
[सकन्द] शाधि तवम एव तरैलॊक्यम अव्यग्रॊ विजये रतः अहं ते किंकरः शक्र न ममेन्द्रत्वम ईप्सितम ॥ ३-२१८-१४ ॥
'Skanda replied, "Do thou continue to rule the three worlds with self-possession, and with your heart focused on victory. I shall remain your humble servant. I do not desire your sovereignty."' ॥ 3-218-14 ॥

[षक्र] बलं तवाद्भुतं वीर तवं देवानाम अरीञ जहि अवज्ञास्यन्ति मां लॊका वीर्येण तव विस्मिताः ॥ ३-२१८-१५ ॥
'Sakra replied, "Your prowess is unmatched, O hero. Therefore, vanquish the enemies of the gods. People are filled with awe at your strength."' ॥ 3-218-15 ॥
