सर्वास तवयाभिगच्छन्तु सकन्दं लॊकस्य मातरः कामवीर्या घनन्तु चैनं तथेत्य उक्त्वा च ता ययुः ।। ३-२१५-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'The gods replied to this, saying, "You have no courage in you to speak in this manner. Let the great Mothers of the Universe go today to Skanda."' ।। 3-215-16 ।।

english translation

sarvAsa tavayAbhigacchantu sakandaM lòkasya mAtaraH kAmavIryA ghanantu cainaM tathetya uktvA ca tA yayuH || 3-215-16 ||

hk transliteration

तम अप्रतिबलं दृष्ट्वा विषण्णवनदास तु ताः अशक्यॊ ऽयं विचिन्त्यैवं तम एव शरणं ययुः ।। ३-२१५-१७ ।।

sanskrit

'They can master at will any degree of energy. Let them then kill this child," they said. "It shall be so," replied the mothers, and then they went away.' ।। 3-215-17 ।।

english translation

tama apratibalaM dRSTvA viSaNNavanadAsa tu tAH azakyò 'yaM vicintyaivaM tama eva zaraNaM yayuH || 3-215-17 ||

hk transliteration

ऊचुश चापि तवम अस्माकं पुत्रास्माभिर धृतं जगत अभिनन्दस्व नः सर्वाः परस्नुताः सनेहविक्लवाः ।। ३-२१५-१८ ।।

sanskrit

'But upon seeing his immense strength, they grew disheartened, recognizing that he was invincible. They then sought his protection, saying, "O mighty one, become our adopted son. We are filled with affection for you and wish to nurse you. Behold, milk flows from our breasts!"' ।। 3-215-18 ।।

english translation

Ucuza cApi tavama asmAkaM putrAsmAbhira dhRtaM jagata abhinandasva naH sarvAH parasnutAH sanehaviklavAH || 3-215-18 ||

hk transliteration

ताः संपूज्य महासेनः कामांश चासां परदाय सः अपश्यद अग्निम आयान्तं पितरं बलिनां बली ।। ३-२१५-१९ ।।

sanskrit

'Hearing their words, the mighty Mahasena, moved by desire, accepted their request with due respect and eagerly began to suckle from their breasts.' ।। 3-215-19 ।।

english translation

tAH saMpUjya mahAsenaH kAmAMza cAsAM paradAya saH apazyada agnima AyAntaM pitaraM balinAM balI || 3-215-19 ||

hk transliteration

स तु संपूजितस तेन सह मातृगणेन ह परिवार्य महासेनं रक्षमाणः सथितः सथिरम ।। ३-२१५-२० ।।

sanskrit

'And the mightiest of beings, seeing his father Agni approach, honored him duly. Agni, the divine agent of all that is good, was reverently received by his son. Together with the Mothers, they remained by Mahasena's side, tending to him.' ।। 3-215-20 ।।

english translation

sa tu saMpUjitasa tena saha mAtRgaNena ha parivArya mahAsenaM rakSamANaH sathitaH sathirama || 3-215-20 ||
