अत्रेश चाप्य अन्वये जाता बरह्मणॊ मानसाः परजाः अत्रिः पुत्रान सरष्टुकामस तान एवात्मन्य अधारयत तस्य तद बरह्मणः कायान निर्हरन्ति हुताशनाः ।। ३-२१२-२६ ।।

sanskrit

'All these fires, born of the spirit of Brahma, also trace their origin to the lineage of Atri. Atri, desiring to expand creation, conceived these sons within his mind. Through this divine act, the fires emerged from his very Brahmic essence.' ।। 3-212-26 ।।

english translation

atreza cApya anvaye jAtA barahmaNò mAnasAH parajAH atriH putrAna saraSTukAmasa tAna evAtmanya adhArayata tasya tada barahmaNaH kAyAna nirharanti hutAzanAH || 3-212-26 ||

'I have thus narrated to thee the history of the origin of these fires. They are great, resplendent, and unrivalled in power, and they are the destroyers of darkness.' ।। 3-212-27 ।।

evama ete mahAtmAnaH kIrtitAsa te 'ganayò mayA aprameyA yathòtpannAH zarImantasa timirApahAH || 3-212-27 ||

अद्भुतस्य तु माहात्म्यं यथा वेदेषु कीर्तितम तादृशं विद्धि सर्वेषाम एकॊ हय एष हुताशनः ।। ३-२१२-२८ ।।

sanskrit

'Know that the powers of all these fires are identical to those of the Adbhuta fire as described in the Vedas. For all these fires are ultimately one and the same.' ।। 3-212-28 ।।

english translation

adbhutasya tu mAhAtmyaM yathA vedeSu kIrtitama tAdRzaM viddhi sarveSAma ekò haya eSa hutAzanaH || 3-212-28 ||

एक एवैष भगवान विज्ञेयः परथमॊ ऽङगिराः बहुधानिःसृतः कायाज जयॊतिष्टॊमः करतुर यथा ।। ३-२१२-२९ ।।

'This revered being, the first-born fire, must be considered as one. Just as the Jyotishtoma sacrifice emerged from the body of Angiras in various forms, so too did this fire manifest.' ।। 3-212-29 ।।

eka evaiSa bhagavAna vijJeyaH parathamò 'GagirAH bahudhAniHsRtaH kAyAja jayòtiSTòmaH karatura yathA || 3-212-29 ||

'I have now narrated to you the history of the great lineage of Agni (fires), who, when properly worshipped with the various hymns, carry the offerings of all creatures to the gods.' ।। 3-212-30 ।।
