तान दृष्ट्वा पतितांस तत्र शाल्वः सौभपतिस तदा मायायुद्धेन महता यॊधयाम आस मां युधि ॥ ३-२१-३१ ॥
'Witnessing his forces fall, Salwa, the master of the metal car, turned to his illusory powers.' ॥ 3-21-31 ॥

ततॊ हुडहुडाः परासाः शक्तिशूलपरश्वधाः पट्टिशाश च भुशुण्ड्यश च परापतन्न अनिशं मयि ॥ ३-२१-३२ ॥
'He unleashed an unrelenting torrent of maces, ploughshares, winged darts, lances, battle-axes, swords, arrows blazing like javelins, thunderbolts, nooses, broad swords, bullets from barrels, and rockets, all raining down upon me.' ॥ 3-21-32 ॥

तान अहं माययैवाशु परतिगृह्य वयनाशयम तस्यां हतायां मायायां गिरिशृङ्गैर अयॊधयत ॥ ३-२१-३३ ॥
'Allowing them to approach, I swiftly dismantled each illusion with my own. When his illusion was dispelled, he hurled mountain peaks at me.' ॥ 3-21-33 ॥

ततॊ ऽभवत तम इव परभातम इव चाभवत दुर्दिनं सुदिनं चैव शीतम उष्णं च भारत ॥ ३-२१-३४ ॥
'O Bharata, the battlefield alternated between darkness and light, shifting from brightness to gloom, heat to cold.' ॥ 3-21-34 ॥

एवं मायां विकुर्वाणॊ यॊधयाम आस मां रिपुः विज्ञाय तद अहं सर्वं माययैव वयनाशयम यथाकालं तु युद्धेन वयधमं सर्वतः शरैः ॥ ३-२१-३५ ॥
'A torrent of coals, ashes, and weapons rained down. Through this powerful illusion, he continued the fight. Perceiving his tricks, I shattered his illusion once more with my counter-illusion. And at the appropriate time, I unleashed a shower of arrows all around.' ॥ 3-21-35 ॥
