[वयध] एवं शप्तः पुरा तेन ऋषिणास्म्य उग्रतेजसा परसादश च कृतस तेन ममैवं दविपदां वर ॥ ३-२०६-६ ॥
'O best of men, thus was I cursed by that rishi of severe ascetic power in the past, and thus was I able to propitiate him.' ॥ 3-206-6 ॥
english translation
शरं चॊद्धृतवान अस्मि तस्य वै दविजसत्तम आश्रमं च मया नीतॊ न च पराणैर वययुज्यत ॥ ३-२०६-७ ॥
'Then, O good Brahmana, I carefully removed the arrow from his body and took him to the hermitage, but he did not lose his life—he recovered.' ॥ 3-206-7 ॥
english translation
एतत ते सर्वम आख्यातं यथा मम पुराभवत अभितश चापि गन्तव्यं मया सवर्गं दविजॊत्तम ॥ ३-२०६-८ ॥
'O good Brahmana, I have thus described to thee what happened to me of old, and also how I shall attain heaven hereafter.' ॥ 3-206-8 ॥
english translation
[बरा] एवम एतानि पुरुषा दुःखानि च सुखानि च पराप्नुवन्ति महाबुद्धे नॊत्कण्ठां कर्तुम अर्हसि दुष्करं हि कृतं तात जानता जातिम आत्मनः ॥ ३-२०६-९ ॥
'The Brahmana said, "O you of great intelligence, all men are subject to both happiness and misery; therefore, you should not grieve over this. In accordance with the customs of your current life, you may have followed these wrongful paths, but you are always devoted to virtue and well-versed in the ways and mysteries of the world."' ॥ 3-206-9 ॥
english translation
कर्म दॊषश च वै विद्वन्न आत्मजातिकृतेन वै कं चित कालं मृष्यतां वै ततॊ ऽसि भविता दविजः सांप्रतं च मतॊ मे ऽसि बराह्मणॊ नात्र संशयः ॥ ३-२०६-१० ॥
'And, O learned man, since these are the duties of your profession, the stain of bad karma will not attach to you. After dwelling here for some time, you will again become a Brahmana; and even now, I consider you to be a Brahmana, there is no doubt about it.' ॥ 3-206-10 ॥
