एतत ते सर्वम आख्यातं निखिलेन युधिष्ठिर पृष्टवान असि यं तात धर्मं धर्मभृतां वर ।। ३-२०६-३१ ।।

sanskrit

'I have thus, O pious Yudhishthira, narrated to you in full this story rich in moral teachings, which you, my dear son, requested me to recount.' ।। 3-206-31 ।।

english translation

etata te sarvama AkhyAtaM nikhilena yudhiSThira pRSTavAna asi yaM tAta dharmaM dharmabhRtAM vara || 3-206-31 ||

पतिव्रताया माहात्म्यं बराह्मणस्य च सत्तम माता पित्रॊश च शुश्रूषा वयाधे धर्मश च कीर्तितः ।। ३-२०६-३२ ।।

'The greatness of a devoted wife, the virtue of the Brahmana, the service to one's parents, and the duty of the sick are all extolled.' ।। 3-206-32 ।।

english translation

pativratAyA mAhAtmyaM barAhmaNasya ca sattama mAtA pitròza ca zuzrUSA vayAdhe dharmaza ca kIrtitaH || 3-206-32 ||

[य] अत्यद्भुतम इदं बरह्मन धर्माख्यानम अनुत्तमम सर्वधर्मभृतां शरेष्ठ कथितं दविजसत्तम ।। ३-२०६-३३ ।।

'Yudhishthira replied, "O most pious Brahmana, and the best of sages, You have told me this excellent and wondrous moral tale; and as I listened to you."' ।। 3-206-33 ।।

[ya] atyadbhutama idaM barahmana dharmAkhyAnama anuttamama sarvadharmabhRtAM zareSTha kathitaM davijasattama || 3-206-33 ||

'O learned one, my time has passed as though in the blink of an eye. But, O revered sir, I am not yet satisfied with hearing this discourse on righteousness.' ।। 3-206-34 ।।

sukhazravyatayA vidvana muhUrtama iva me gatama na hi tRptò 'sami bhagavAJa zRNvAnò dharmama uttamama || 3-206-34 ||
