भूमौ निपतितॊ बरह्मन्न उवाच परतिनादयन नापराध्याम्य अहं किं चित केन पापम इदं कृतम ॥ ३-२०५-२६ ॥
'He fell to the ground, crying out in a loud voice, 'I have harmed no one; what sinful man has inflicted this upon me?'' ॥ 3-205-26 ॥
english translation
मन्वानस तं मृगं चाहं संप्राप्तः सहसा मुनिम अपश्यं तम ऋषिं विद्धं शरेणानतपर्वणा तम उग्रतपसं विप्रं निष्टनन्तं महीतले ॥ ३-२०५-२७ ॥
'And, my lord, thinking him to be a deer, I approached and found that he was pierced through the body by my arrow. Overcome with sorrow for my wicked deed, I was deeply troubled in my heart.' ॥ 3-205-27 ॥
english translation
अकार्य करणाच चापि भृशं मे वयथितं मनः अजानता कृतम इदं मयेत्य अथ तम अब्रुवम कषन्तुम अर्हसि मे बरह्मन्न इति चॊक्तॊ मया मुनिः ॥ ३-२०५-२८ ॥
'Then I said to that rishi of great ascetic merit, who was crying out loudly and lying upon the ground, 'O rishi, I have done this unknowingly.'' ॥ 3-205-28 ॥
english translation
ततः परत्यब्रवीद वाक्यम ऋशिर मां करॊधमूर्च्छितः वयाधस तवं भविता करूर शूद्रयॊनाव इति दविज ॥ ३-२०५-२९ ॥
'I also said to the rishi, 'Do you deem it proper to pardon this transgression?' But, O Brahmana, the rishi, enraged, replied, 'You shall be born as a cruel fowler in the Sudra class.'' ॥ 3-205-29 ॥
