पतमानॊ हि नरके भवतास्मि समुद्धृतः भवितव्यम अथैवं च यद दृष्टॊ ऽसि मयानघ ॥ ३-२०५-१६ ॥
'The Brahmana continued, "I am truly glad, O great man, to have secured your friendship; may prosperity attend you. I was on the verge of falling into hell, but by your grace, I have been rescued. It was destined to be so, for you appeared in my path at the right moment."' ॥ 3-205-16 ॥
english translation
राजा ययातिर दौहित्रैः पतितस तारितॊ यथा सद्भिः पुरुषशार्दूल तथाहं भवता तव इह ॥ ३-२०५-१७ ॥
'And, O great man, as the fallen King Yayati was rescued by his virtuous grandsons, so have I now been saved by you.' ॥ 3-205-17 ॥
english translation
माता पितृभ्यां शुश्रूषां करिष्ये वचनात तव नाकृतात्मा वेदयति धर्माधर्मविनिश्चयम ॥ ३-२०५-१८ ॥
'Following your counsel, I shall honour my father and mother; for a man with an impure heart can never truly expound the mysteries of sin and righteousness.' ॥ 3-205-18 ॥
english translation
दुर्ज्ञेयः शाश्वतॊ धर्मः शूद्रयॊनौ हि वर्तता न तवां शूद्रम अहं मन्ये भवितव्यं हि कारणम येन कर्म विपाकेन परातेयं शूद्रता तवया ॥ ३-२०५-१९ ॥
'As it is exceedingly difficult for one born in the Sudra class to grasp the mysteries of the eternal religion, I do not regard you as a Sudra. There must certainly be some deeper cause behind this. You must have attained the Sudra’s state due to the consequences of your own past actions.' ॥ 3-205-19 ॥

एतद इच्छामि विज्ञातुं तत्त्वेन हि महामते कामया बरूहि मे तथ्यं सर्वं तवं परयतात्मवान ॥ ३-२०५-२० ॥
'Please reveal it to me with care and in accordance with your own disposition.' ॥ 3-205-20 ॥
