संविभागॊ हि भूतानां सर्वेषाम एव शिष्यते तथैवॊपचमानेभ्यः परदेयं गृहमेधिना ॥ ३-२-५१ ॥
'Just as all creatures share their provisions with those reliant on them, so do I seek wealth to fulfill this duty. A person leading a domestic life should offer a portion of his food to Yatis and Brahmacharins who have renounced the act of cooking for themselves.' ॥ 3-2-51 ॥

तृणानि भूमिर उदकं वाक चतुर्थी च सूनृता सताम एतानि गेहेषु नॊच्छिद्यन्ते कदा चन ॥ ३-२-५२ ॥
'The homes of virtuous individuals are never lacking in essentials: grass for seating, space for rest, water for washing and quenching thirst, and kind words.' ॥ 3-2-52 ॥

देयम आर्तस्य शयनं सथितश्रान्तस्य चासनम तृषितस्य च पानीयं कषुधितस्य च भॊजनम ॥ ३-२-५३ ॥
'To the weary, provide a bed; to the fatigued, a seat; to the thirsty, water; and to the hungry, food.' ॥ 3-2-53 ॥

चक्षुर अद्यान मनॊ दद्याद वाचं दद्याच च सूनृताम परत्युद्गम्याभिगमनं कुर्यान नयायेन चार्चनम ॥ ३-२-५४ ॥
'Additionally, guests should be welcomed with pleasant expressions, a cheerful demeanor, and sweet words. The host should rise to greet the guest, offer him a seat, and properly honor him.' ॥ 3-2-54 ॥

अघि हॊत्रम अनड्वांश च जञातयॊ ऽतिथिबान्धवाः पुत्रदारभृताश चैव निर्दहेयुर अपूजिताः ॥ ३-२-५५ ॥
'This is a timeless moral duty. Those who neglect the performance of the Agnihotra, fail to attend to cattle, or neglect to care for their relatives, guests, friends, children, spouses, and servants, incur sin through such neglect.' ॥ 3-2-55 ॥
