पतिव्रतानां माहात्म्यं वक्तुम अर्हसि नः परभॊ निरुध्य चेन्द्रियग्रामं मनॊ संरुध्य चानघ पतिं दैवतवच चापि चिन्तयन्त्यः सथिता हि याः ॥ ३-१९६-६ ॥
'O venerable one, it is fitting for you to impart to us the exalted and supreme virtue of chaste wives—wives who, by restraining all their senses and keeping their hearts in perfect control, regard their husbands as true gods.' ॥ 3-196-6 ॥
english translation
भगवन दुष्करं हय एतत परतिभाति मम परभॊ माता पितृषु शुश्रूषा सत्रीणां भर्तृषु च दविज ॥ ३-१९६-७ ॥
'O holy and venerable one, all this seems exceedingly difficult to me to accomplish. O regenerate sage, the devotion that sons offer to their mothers and fathers, and that wives offer to their husbands, both appear to me to be truly challenging.' ॥ 3-196-7 ॥

सत्रीणां धर्मात सुघॊराद धि नान्यं पश्यामि दुष्करम साध्व आचाराः सत्रियॊ बरह्मन यत कुर्वन्ति सदादृताः दुष्करं बत कुर्वन्ति पितरॊ मातरश च वै ॥ ३-१९६-८ ॥
'I see nothing more difficult than the steadfast virtue of chaste women. O Brahmana, the duties that women of good character diligently uphold, and the conduct that virtuous sons show towards their fathers and mothers, both seem to me to be the most difficult to perform.' ॥ 3-196-8 ॥

एप पत्न्यश च या नार्यॊ याश च सत्यं वदन्त्य उत कुक्षिणा दश मासांश च गर्भं संधारयन्ति याः नार्यः कालेन संभूय किम अद्भुततरं ततः ॥ ३-१९६-९ ॥
'Those women who are devoted to a single lord, who always speak the truth, and who endure the full ten months of gestation—O Brahmana, there is nothing more difficult than the tasks performed by these women.' ॥ 3-196-9 ॥
english translation
संशयं परमं पराप्य वेदानाम अतुलाम अपि परजायन्ते सुतान नार्यॊ दुःखेन महता विभॊ पुष्णन्ति चापि महता सनेहेन दविजसत्तम ॥ ३-१९६-१० ॥
'O venerable one, women bring forth their offspring with great risk and immense pain, and they raise their children, O bull among Brahmanas, with profound affection!' ॥ 3-196-10 ॥
