तवया हि पृथिवी राजन रक्ष्यमाणा महात्मना भविष्यति निरुद्विग्ना नारण्यं गन्तुम अर्हसि ॥ ३-१९३-११ ॥
'With your great soul and protection, the earth shall be freed from all dangers. Therefore, it is right for you not to retire into the forest.' ॥ 3-193-11 ॥
english translation
पालने हि महान धर्मः परजानाम इह दृश्यते न तथा दृश्यते ऽरण्ये मा ते भूद बुद्धिर ईदृशी ॥ ३-१९३-१२ ॥
'Great merit is attained in this world by protecting the people. Such merit cannot be gained in the forest. Therefore, O great king, let not your heart be drawn to this path.' ॥ 3-193-12 ॥
english translation
ईदृशॊ न हि राजेन्द्र धर्मः कव चन दृश्यते परजानां पालने यॊ वै पुरा राजर्षिभिः कृतः रक्षितव्याः परजा राज्ञा तास तवं रक्षितुम अर्हसि ॥ ३-१९३-१३ ॥
'The merit acquired in ancient times by great royal sages, through the protection of their subjects, was so immense that nothing comparable to it can be seen. The king should always protect his subjects.' ॥ 3-193-13 ॥

निरुद्विग्नस तपॊ चर्तुं न हि शक्नॊमि पार्थिव ममाश्रमसमीपे वै समेषु मरुधन्वसु ॥ ३-१९३-१४ ॥
'Therefore, it is your duty to protect your people, O lord of the earth. At present, I cannot perform my ascetic practices in peace.' ॥ 3-193-14 ॥

समुद्रॊ बालुका पूर्ण उजानक इति समृतः बहुयॊजनविस्तीर्णॊ बहुयॊजनम आयतः ॥ ३-१९३-१५ ॥
'Near my hermitage lies a vast desert called Ujjalaka, a barren land devoid of water, stretching many yojanas in both length and breadth.' ॥ 3-193-15 ॥
