पालने हि महान धर्मः परजानाम इह दृश्यते न तथा दृश्यते ऽरण्ये मा ते भूद बुद्धिर ईदृशी ।। ३-१९३-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'Great merit is attained in this world by protecting the people. Such merit cannot be gained in the forest. Therefore, O great king, let not your heart be drawn to this path.' ।। 3-193-12 ।।

english translation

pAlane hi mahAna dharmaH parajAnAma iha dRzyate na tathA dRzyate 'raNye mA te bhUda buddhira IdRzI || 3-193-12 ||
