अल्पवीर्यबलाः सतब्धा लॊभमॊहपरायणाः तत्कथादानसंतुष्टा दुष्टानाम अपि मानवाः परिग्रहं करिष्यन्ति पापाचारपरिग्रहाः ।। ३-१८८-३१ ।।

sanskrit

'Men of feeble energy and strength, devoid of wisdom, driven by greed and folly, and steeped in sinful practices, will joyfully accept gifts from the wicked, even when offered with scornful words.' ।। 3-188-31 ।।

english translation

alpavIryabalAH satabdhA lòbhamòhaparAyaNAH tatkathAdAnasaMtuSTA duSTAnAma api mAnavAH parigrahaM kariSyanti pApAcAraparigrahAH || 3-188-31 ||

संघातयन्तः कौन्तेय राजानः पापबुद्धयः परस्परवधॊद्युक्ता मूर्खाः पण्डितमानिनः भविष्यन्ति युगस्यान्ते कषत्रिया लॊककण्टकाः ।। ३-१८८-३२ ।।

'O son of Kunti, the rulers of the earth, their hearts bound to unrighteousness, lacking true understanding, yet boastful of their supposed wisdom, will challenge one another in their lust for power, seeking to take each other’s lives.' ।। 3-188-32 ।।

saMghAtayantaH kaunteya rAjAnaH pApabuddhayaH parasparavadhòdyuktA mUrkhAH paNDitamAninaH bhaviSyanti yugasyAnte kaSatriyA lòkakaNTakAH || 3-188-32 ||

अरक्षितारॊ लुब्धाश च मानाहंकार दर्पिताः केवलं दण्डरुचयॊ भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ।। ३-१८८-३३ ।।

sanskrit

'Towards the end of such an age, the Kshatriyas will become a scourge upon the earth. Consumed by greed, and swollen with pride and vanity, they will abandon their duty to protect their subjects. Instead, they will find satisfaction solely in meting out punishment.' ।। 3-188-33 ।।

arakSitArò lubdhAza ca mAnAhaMkAra darpitAH kevalaM daNDarucayò bhaviSyanti yugakSaye || 3-188-33 ||

'Relentlessly attacking the virtuous and the honest, showing no compassion even for their cries of grief, the Kshatriyas, O Bharata, will plunder their wealth and seize their wives.' ।। 3-188-34 ।।

न कन्यां याचते कश चिन नापि कन्या परदीयते सवयं गराहा भविष्यन्ति युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते ।। ३-१८८-३५ ।।

'At the end of the age, marriages will no longer follow tradition; neither will families offer their daughters in marriage, nor will suitors seek their hands— instead, women will choose their own partners.' ।। 3-188-35 ।।
