एताश चान्याश च नद्यॊ ऽहं पृथिव्यां या नरॊत्तम परिक्रामन परपश्यामि तस्य कुक्षौ महात्मनः ॥ ३-१८६-९६ ॥

'O best among men (narottama), while wandering around, I see these and other rivers on earth flowing in the belly of that great soul (mahātmanaḥ).' ।। 3-186-96 ।।

english translation

etAza cAnyAza ca nadyò 'haM pRthivyAM yA naròttama parikrAmana parapazyAmi tasya kukSau mahAtmanaH ॥ 3-186-96 ॥

ततः समुद्रं पश्यामि यादॊगणनिषेवितम रत्नाकरम अमित्रघ्न निधानं पयसॊ महत ॥ ३-१८६-९७ ॥

'I beheld all these and many other rivers on the earth, O slayer of foes! And I also beheld the ocean there, inhabited by alligators and sharks, a treasure mine of gems, and the glorious abode of waters.' ।। 3-186-97 ।।

english translation

tataH samudraM pazyAmi yAdògaNaniSevitama ratnAkarama amitraghna nidhAnaM payasò mahata ॥ 3-186-97 ॥

ततः पश्यामि गगनं चन्द्रसूर्यविराजितम जाज्वल्यमानं तेजॊभिः पावकार्क समप्रभैः पश्यामि च महीं राजन कानकैर उपशॊभिताम ॥ ३-१८६-९८ ॥

'And there, O king, I beheld the firmament, adorned with the Sun and the Moon, radiant with their brilliant effulgence, and shining with the glow of the Sun's fiery light. I also saw the Earth, graced with forests and groves, resplendent in her beauty.' ।। 3-186-98 ।।

tataH pazyAmi gaganaM candrasUryavirAjitama jAjvalyamAnaM tejòbhiH pAvakArka samaprabhaiH pazyAmi ca mahIM rAjana kAnakaira upazòbhitAma ॥ 3-186-98 ॥

यजन्ते हि तदा राजन बराह्मणा बहुभिः सवैः कषत्रियाश च परवर्तन्ते सर्ववर्णानुरञ्जने ॥ ३-१८६-९९ ॥

'And, O monarch, I beheld there many Brahmanas engaged in various sacrifices; the Kshatriyas working for the welfare of all the orders;' ।। 3-186-99 ।।

english translation

yajante hi tadA rAjana barAhmaNA bahubhiH savaiH kaSatriyAza ca paravartante sarvavarNAnuraJjane ॥ 3-186-99 ॥

वैश्याः कृषिं यथान्यायं कारयन्ति नराधिप शुश्रूषायां च निरता दविजानां वृषलास तथा ॥ ३-१८६-१०० ॥

'The Vaisyas occupied in agricultural pursuits; and the Sudras dedicated to the service of the twice-born.' ।। 3-186-100 ।।

english translation

vaizyAH kRSiM yathAnyAyaM kArayanti narAdhipa zuzrUSAyAM ca niratA davijAnAM vRSalAsa tathA ॥ 3-186-100 ॥
